Trentham Park

Trentham Park Golf Club, Park Drive (Off Whitmore Road), Trentham Park, Trentham, Stoke-On-Trent, Staffordshire, ST4 8AE

Trentham Park Golf Club (TPGC) has established itself as a superb parkland course conveniently located with excellent access from junction 15 of the M6.

Set in the former grounds of Trentham Hall, once the seat of the Duke of Sutherland, TPGC is an 18-hole par 71 course. Measuring 6390 yards, from the back tees, there are many challenging holes, offering both high and low handicap golfers a fair and exciting challenge.

The pleasantly wooded course makes excellent use of water features, including an unforgettable opening drive, needing to skirt a waterfall and lake, to achieve par.

Recently greens and surrounds have been re-designed and re-bunkered by Steve Marnoch, the international golf course architect, to reflect the ever increasing demands of modern day golf.

TPGC is the home course of Ryder Cup player David Gilford, who, with Ronan Rafferty, jointly held the course record of 67 until June 2006. Edward Richardson of Southern Valley Golf Club posted a new record of 66 at the Midlands Amateur Open Championship on 30th June 2006.

A new course record was established on Saturday 22nd August 2009, during the Club’s 36 hole Championship, and again on the 15th July 2010.

European tour player Simon Wakefield is another member who, like David Gilford, came through the Club’s Junior ranks.

A refurbished clubhouse offers first class facilities and the Club’s reputation for making societies and visitors welcome is well deserved, with the food being as good as the course.
